About the Author

Hey! My name is Emily Elizabeth and this is my big red. . .oh wait, wrong line.  But I am Emily (and yes, my middle name is Elizabeth), and this is my blog.

I’m in my mid 20′s and am currently working full time in the insurance industry.  Outside of the office, I can be found pursuing passions and interests in all areas Biblical/theological/religious, blogging (both writing and reading), and taking far too many photos (all photos on the blog are mine unless stated otherwise).

I have loved most forms of writing (I say most because I just can’t get writing poetry) for as long as I can remember, but started writing devotions during my sophomore year of college in response to the Holy Spirit’s very specific convictions regarding my perfectionist approach to life.  While going through several brief periods of inactivity, I have been writing devotions in varying formats and for an array of purposes ever since.

For a variety of reasons, over the past couple of years I have developed quite an interest in the blogosphere.  And my tastes aren’t limited.  My feed reader includes blogs ranging from one side of the spectrum to the other…photography, design, recipes, personal/family, theology, etc.  When I realized that beginning my own blog had become inevitable, I considered launching not one, but two: one to document my everyday life and one to share the afore-mentioned devotions.

However, after much prayer and some serious contemplation, I realized that I can’t separate the devotions I write from my everyday life.  For better or worse, they are not mutually exclusive and are forever intertwined.

As a result, here in one convenient (and possibly confused) location you can expect to find a weekly(ish) devotion (aka: devo thoughts) and all sorts of randomness that falls under the category of “life” as I strive to live each moment of the “everyday” to honor and glorify my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Curious about the title “The Inner Harbor”? Check out one of my very first posts explaining its significance.
